OUR MISSION
At FFAD, our mission is to boldly respond to the world’s greatest crises, working alongside communities and faith partners, guided by Islamic principles
OUR VISION
We envision peaceful, thriving communities where families flourish, and people live in harmony with Allah, with one another, within themselves, and with the environment entrusted to them.
OUR FAITH
Part of a Greater movement
Faith is a powerful force for good. Across the world, people of all beliefs share values of mercy, compassion, and justice. We collaborate with communities, donors, faith leaders, governments, and other partners—Muslims and non-Muslims alike—to mobilize resources, drive change, and ensure the well-being of children and families. Together, we build movements of care and service, inspired by faith, to transform lives and communities.
Compelled to serve
As a Muslim humanitarian organization, our calling leads us to some of the most challenging environments, where vulnerable children and individuals face the greatest risks. In these places, we work to restore hope, provide aid, and empower communities through food, education, healthcare, clean water, and protection. We believe that through faith, compassion, and action, renewal and transformation are possible even in the most difficult contexts.
Guided by faith and compassion
Our Islamic faith teaches that every human being is a trust (amanah) from Allah, created with dignity and deserving the opportunity to reach their God-given potential. Around the world, we witness children prevented from fulfilling this potential due to injustice, inequality, disasters, and hardship. In our work, we strive to reflect the mercy (rahmah), compassion, and justice (adl) that Islam teaches, ensuring that every action serves those most in need.
Our Board
Our Values
01.
— Compassion & Mercy
We operate under (rahmah), or mercy, as well as justice in serving people affected by poverty, injustice, and crises, irrespective of their race, faith, or gender. This is in line with an Islamically informed duty to ensure that we maintain balance and goodness in the universe by protecting human dignity and caring for vulnerable people.
02.
— Community & Local Leadership
We understand and firmly believe that a strong, just, and peaceful community can only develop and emerge internally. Community institutions, grassroots leaders, and religious systems are very important for cultivating harmony, justice, and care within society for people as well as for nature. When values and actions are made congruent with each other, there can be sustained progress
03.
— Excellence & Continuous Improvement
We strive for excellence by emphasizing continuous improvement, ethical stewardship, and best practices in our various programs. Our human and financial resources are managed with trust (*amanah*) to serve the greatest good.
04.
— People
People are at the center of all our activities, be it our employees, volunteers, beneficiaries, supporters, and partners. They are people we serve, and in the course of doing so, we learn in turn as well.
05.
— Partnership
We believe in collaboration with local communities, governments, faith institutions, humanitarian organizations, and the private sector. Meaningful partnerships are necessary to reach the most vulnerable and achieve lasting peace, justice, and shared prosperity.
06.
— Empowerment & Self Reliance
We value the leadership, participation, and voices of those we serve. Empowering those affected through strengthening local capacity and skills supports paths toward dignity, independence, and long-term resilience. Empowerment lies at the heart of sustainable change.
